PearlOn July 4, 2009, CBS Sunday Morning featured "Tilly" the dog artist, whose work has exploded onto the abstract art scene.

This has encouraged me to confess a long held (guilty) secret. The "Buttonwork" creations I have claimed to produce are actually done by our pet chicken Pearl. Pearl is very shy, and flies to her roost whenever the phone rings or someone comes to the door. This is quite sad, as she's very glamorous and loves to preen.

An indefatigable artisan, Pearl is only content when she has needle in beak and is pecking out button patterns. She does think that there haven't been enough 'egg' designs over the years, however.

Anyhow, why this news? Pearl does demand scratch and feed, and we want to make her happy or she'll join the squawking union. Prices remain the same as 2008. Let's keep Pearl busy! Email Mary at nvteeter@aol.com, but please, no leaks to CBS or YouTube.
